The year 2009 was an international growth for the ENT Department of Ajou University Hospital. Together with staff and members of our ENT department, Prof. Keehyun Park hosted 'The 6th Extraordinary International Symposium on Recent Advances in Otitis Media' which was a great success. Enthusiastic and interesting discussions were brought together from participants all over the world. We thank all the doctors, professors, and attendees who contributed to this international conference.

In 2009, Associate Prof. Chul-Ho Kim studied in University of Tennessee, bringing back inspiring research papers and updated data. This exchanging scholar program enlightens our department to advanced knowledge and original perspectives. Also, Assistant Prof. Jinseok Lee joined our ENT department as a new staff member of head and neck subdivision.

In 2009, followed by Prof. Keehyun Park, I have assumed responsibility as a head of our ENT department. I will endeavor to manage the central role of domestic and international events, emulating Prof. Park's passion towards our department for the past 16 years. I also appreciate all the hard work of new and old members of the outpatient department including faculty members, residents, nursing staffs and laboratory technicians.
